Hi Everyone. I was browsing the forums for troubleshooting my 2006 Murano. When I found out that the Brake light with the Batt Light was a indication my alternator was on it's last leg. Sure enough, the test showed that my battery was at a 8% charge and my alternator was at 11V and <30amps.
I was wondering if there was ever a recall for this part. It is pretty late and my local dealer is closed for remodeling. If you guys could give me some insight, it would really help me out with scheduling next week out. ![]() Thanks everyone. |

Welcome to the forum.
Yes there was a recall for the MO's alternator, however it was for 2003-2005 MOs. The 2006 MO was not affected. -njjoe

I recently purchased a 2004 Nissan Murano. I've had it 2 months and I was driving it one day and while at a stoplight when I went to press the gas the car would not move. I couldn't reverse or go forward. I figured I'd shut it off and restart it. Well needless to say it didn't start back up. Earlier in the day I had smelled something burning when I had started it but figured rain on the tailpipe was what I was smelling. Well it seemed it was my alternator I was smelling. I've seen recalls for the 2004 Murano but I'm wondering if it's still in effect since it's now 2012. Can someone help tell me how I'd find out if the recall affects me? Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the forum. Contact Nissan Consumer Affairs @ 800-647-7261, give them your VIN and they can tell you if the recall was ever performed on your MO. -njjoe
