Exclamation Brake Recall - 2016 models

NHTSA Recall# 16V193000 was issued by Nissan on April 6, 2016 to address issues with the service brake on certain 2016 MOs.

The following is from the NHTSA website:

SUMMARY:
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016 Murano vehicles manufactured December 17, 2015, to February 11, 2016, and 2016 Maxima vehicles manufactured November 25, 2015, to February 12, 2016 and equipped with an antilock braking system (ABS) and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC). The ABS actuator may have a damaged O-ring that may result in a lack of brake fluid pressure.
CONSEQUENCE:
Insufficient brake fluid pressure may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
REMEDY:
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the ABS actuator, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin by June 4, 2016. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

Gosh, I hope owners of the model are able to catch the recall as soon as possible. Problems with the ABS could really have a very big impact on people on the road. Just wondering whether dealerships will actually send notifications out to their customers when such recalls are issued?

Nissan will notify all owners directly; that's normal in this case. Hopefully they'll pay attention!

Comment: there are good reasons to register your purchases, especially big ones like cars. This is an example.

2008 BMW E91 328xi Sportwagon
2009 BMW E92 328ix Coupe
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
1983 280ZX Turbo
