I replaced my plastic ones with the aluminum ones from abc last weekend, piece of cake.
Best dam $20 I ever spent!

I could be wrong but I think there is a fuel line modification that needs to be done to install thes things. I recommend you let the dealer put the plastic ones on first so the modification is done and then you replace them with metal ones you got, or take the metal ones to the dealer and have them put those on to start with.

It is no big deal. The "fuel line modification" is nothing more than sliding a plastic clip a few inches along the fuel line. Check out the pic below.

I too ordered the abc metal fuel tank protector, then went to my local Nissan dealer and asked them to perform the recall, but to put the abc parts on instead of the plastic snow plow parts. To my surprise, they agreed to do it at no cost since it didn't require any extra work and I could show them that the metal part was a Nissan part from a Nissan dealership. I now have the plastic pieces and plastic push pins in my garage just in case someone in this forum interested, but I seriously doubt anyone would want them. As someone said earlier, $20 well spent.

Mine has it...the butt ugly plastic one, was on when I bought it, so I'd say the Canadian ones are covered as well!

Earlier today I had my dealer install the metal fuel shields from ABC Nissan. They had no problem what so ever with using my shields to perform the recall.

The guys in the service department were intrigued by the fact that I was able to still get the metal shields even though they can not. The general consensus is that ABC Nissan bought up the remainder of the metal shields and are now the sole source. So if you are interested in the metal shields I suggest you act now, because the supply may be limited.
