Default ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH INTEL. KEY

from reading these postings i see most of you with intel. keys have had the experience of your key touching something in a pocket and rolling down your windows..as it is designed to do.

i was told by the factory rep. at my dealership that nissan would consider redesigning the keyfob so that merely pressing it against your leg in a pants pocket would not roll your windows down while your car is outside in the elements.

please call 1-800-NISSAN-1...wait for the prompt for ''other issues you may need to discuss'' (have your vin # ready) and tell them
THAT THE SHAPE OF THE KEYFOB IS UNACCEPTABLE.

PLEASE SITE SAFETY AS YOUR PRIMARY CONCERN.

IF THOSE WINDOWS ROLL DOWN...
1. your electric seats and seat motors are history in a rainstorm.
2. your car is moldy and wet
3. your stereo may be reduced to a mass of dangling wires at the
hands of thieves.
4. your personal belongings (which, btw, are NOT COVERED by
you auto insurance...but by your homeowner's insurance at
usually a much higher rate...and at depreciated values on your
possessions. some car owner's don't own homes and carry
no such insurance) are sure to disappear.
5. and last but not least....god forbid some ax-murderer doesn't
notice your windows are down and climbs in only to pop out
from under your cargo cover.

this feature is not able to be disabled by the factory, the dealer, nor the owner...so evidently more than just the roll down feature is tied to the chip that controls this feature....and i for one WANT this feature as i have paid for it, already.

BUT WHAT I DO INSIST UPON..is that this feature pose no threat to my safety nor to that of my wife and children...or to the trade-in value of my murano.

a simple fix is all i ask..and that is the shape of the keyfob needs to be such that the rounded top cannot inadvertently be activated by bumping it. this feature was activated in my car while it sat in a parking lot outside my warehouse...while i was over 75ft away...through 7 interior walls and a two foot thick solid block, brick-faced wall.

while we are all going in for recalls on the ignition...this could easily be remedied at the same time.

please call 1-800-NISSAN-1....and help out those of us who are having this problem, even if you are not...as we would all be happy to help you if the situation were reversed. i have noticed that some of you have little patience for those of us who have these seemingly minor problems. but, engineers should take into consideration where keys are normally stored..ie the purse or pants..and design the keys to fit the lifestyle. so, we have intelligent keys..that we paid over 1000 bucks for built into the price and now need to redesign our lives so that our keys cannot be used handily...which is the intent of the intel key to begin with.

i once had a VERY GOOD REASON to initiate a lemon-law suit, which i won...and i am here to tell you...that these sites are very vulnerable to oversite by trained paralegals of the automobile manufacturers....any one of the posters could be one of them...so, if you feel you have an issue that doesn't meet minimum safety specs..don't be bullied by the guy who poo-poos your intelligence because you can't seem to operate your window roll-down feature..or keep it from operating. chances are he is a trained paralegal gathering data in order to provide training for someone who may later deal with your complaint to nissan...and his sole purpose is to make you feel like an idiot for even mentioning it with hopes that you may just go away.

the keyfob is DEFECTIVELY DESIGNED. it's not a biggy as far as a shape redesign. nissan more than likely buys these things from another manufacturer upon which they can fall back for liability and replacement. it's not gonna cost them a cent to fix...but think about what it may cost YOU, THE CONSUMER, if your windows should roll down in a place or in weather where they shouldn't be rolled down.

thank you for reading through this.

please call 1-800-NISSAN-1 and stand on them. the life you save maybe that of your child.

Parker - I'm just taking a guess here, but I think that three threads is reasonable exposure for your concerns. I could be wrong of course, but three seems reasonable to me. However, I feel obligated to respond at least one more time.

>> what makes ya think that i might share THAT info with a paralegal for NISSAN...especially one who wouldn't give me the time of day by calling nissan about a keyfob i can no longer use...
Accusing a senior member of this board of being s shill for Nissan is pretty paranoid. I am a security professional, and I deal with paranoia all the time - but you take the cake today!

>> i was told by the factory rep. at my dealership that nissan would consider redesigning the keyfob so that merely pressing it...
Factory rep? So you mean that someone from Nissan Inc told you that they would consider redesigning it? Or do you mean that a dealer employee told you that?

>> THAT THE SHAPE OF THE KEYFOB IS UNACCEPTABLE.
So changing the shape is the only solution?

>> PLEASE SITE SAFETY AS YOUR PRIMARY CONCERN.
I already advised you that safety is not the main issue. It's obviously not persuading people. You would have better luck persuading for a change based on the likelihood of damage to the vehicle/

>> BUT WHAT I DO INSIST UPON..is that this feature pose no threat to my safety nor to that of my wife and children...or to the trade-in value of my murano.
my trade in value is affected by a feature?

>> this feature was activated in my car while it sat in a parking lot outside my warehouse...while i was over 75ft away...through 7 interior walls and a two foot thick solid block, brick-faced wall.
I had no idea the range was this astounding! Heck, I can't get mine to work through a single residential wall and garage door half the time!

>> please call 1-800-NISSAN-1....and help out those of us who are having this problem, even if you are not...
So - even if we do not think it is a problem we should call in? Sounds a little unethical to me.

>> i have noticed that some of you have little patience for those of us who have these seemingly minor problems.
I suggest you read the book 'how to win friends and influence people' - because you are failing on both points here. It's not your issue that is irritating people or bringing up emotional responses - it is your extreme statements, personal accusations, and repeat postings in threads NOT ABOUT THIS SUBJECT that is bringing out this in others. You reap what you sow.

>> i once had a VERY GOOD REASON to initiate a lemon-law suit, which i won...and i am here to tell you
You keep saying this, but proof is in the pudding. However, I guess since we are all trained paralegals for Nissan you should not tell us details behind this piece of public information, just hide behind a unverifiable claim. How do we know that you are not a plant for Ford trying to drive up cost and public embarrasment for Nissan? I can be paranoid to!

>> ...that these sites are very vulnerable to oversite by trained paralegals of the automobile manufacturers....
Again, paranoia of an extreme and humorous nature. I have no doubt that manufacturs might choose to monitor these forums, but this level of concern is a bit... just wow.

Thank you for the entertainment. I will stop feeding the troll now.

Accusing a senior member of this board of being s shill for Nissan is pretty paranoid. I am a security professional, and I deal with paranoia all the time - but you take the cake today!

(he answered one of my posts by saying you were all paralegals...don't make me out to be an ass...a wise crack begets a wise crack)

>> i was told by the factory rep. at my dealership that nissan would consider redesigning the keyfob so that merely pressing it...
Factory rep? So you mean that someone from Nissan Inc told you that they would consider redesigning it? Or do you mean that a dealer employee told you that?

(first you ***** that my postings are a bit much, but for the sake of brevity. sales manager, after witnessing the problemt old rep...rep said she would run it by engineering...suggested anyone who has this problem calll the posted number. that good enough for ya??? and who are you to decide what other murano owners might read and never respond to..for all you know there are other peope who've had this problem. maybe your unsympathetic nature just prevents them from posting....which BTW...is exactly how automotive industry paralegals pretty much sound after they realize someone might cause them to have to work for their money)

>> THAT THE SHAPE OF THE KEYFOB IS UNACCEPTABLE.
So changing the shape is the only solution?
(yeah, changing the shape or producing a cover that puts the keys at the low point on the fob..not the highest spot. the FEATURE CANNOT BE DEACTIVATED...at the shop or by you...the roll down feature.)

>> PLEASE SITE SAFETY AS YOUR PRIMARY CONCERN.
I already advised you that safety is not the main issue. It's obviously not persuading people. You would have better luck persuading for a change based on the likelihood of damage to the vehicle/

(i consider OPERATING a wet electrical nightmare like the murano..a safety issue. i was the lucky owner of a ford whose computer quit...try that with power brakes and steering going 70.
i also consider my car being left open a safety issue..esp. when i lock it up and leave it)

>> BUT WHAT I DO INSIST UPON..is that this feature pose no threat to my safety nor to that of my wife and children...or to the trade-in value of my murano.
my trade in value is affected by a feature?

(yeah..if my car drowns in the rain..i am sure the trade in value will be affected...would you buy a used car from New Orleans???
i don't think i should have had to explain that one to you.)

>> this feature was activated in my car while it sat in a parking lot outside my warehouse...while i was over 75ft away...through 7 interior walls and a two foot thick solid block, brick-faced wall.

I had no idea the range was this astounding! Heck, I can't get mine to work through a single residential wall and garage door half the time!

(YEAH..i squatted in the back bathroom to take a look at something the plumber was doing...the car was parked almost directly in front of where i was squatting...about 75 ft away, only outside. there WERE 7 interior drywall walls and one exterior block and brick wall...between me and the murano... i thought you read the other threads???
the plumber's helper came inside and said he was outside when the panic button activated the horn, lights and then the windows came down. got a problem with that???)

>> please call 1-800-NISSAN-1....and help out those of us who are having this problem, even if you are not...
So - even if we do not think it is a problem we should call in? Sounds a little unethical to me.

(gee...i believe you were the one who said...everytime some newbie buys a murano...the first thing he does is complain about his windows going up and down...so it seemed to me you might think that's a problem)

>> i have noticed that some of you have little patience for those of us who have these seemingly minor problems.

(i'm not even gonna stoop to answer that...but, i will say....i don't think your alternators and cvt's are problems either..you can FIX that. AS FAR AS i'm CONCERNED, THOUGH....having windows that roll down after i lock my car, just from keeping my keys where normal people keep em...i think that's a REAL PROBLEM.)

>> i once had a VERY GOOD REASON to initiate a lemon-law suit, which i won...and i am here to tell you

LOOK IT UP.
1986...FORD TEMPO. COMPUTER WOULD SHUT DOWN...THE DEALER WAS AN ASS...WE DIDN'T MERELY PREVAIL AGAINST FORD...THE JURY CAME BACK AGAINST THE DEALER, TOO. THAT'S A REAL RARITY.

1972...LOOK IT UP. FORD. 1969 BRONCO. DEFECTIVELY DESIGNED STEERING...IT CAME APART AND ALMOST KILLED 4 PEOPLE....TOOLING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 65....BY THE TIME WE WENT TO COURT...WE FOUND OVER 400 VICTIMS OF WRECKS CAUSED BY THE SAME THING.)

WHAT CRACKS ME UP IS THAT I ENLISTED YOUR AID. PLEASE FORGIVE ME...I CAN HANDLE THIS MYSELF...YOU PROBABLY DON'T EVEN HAVE AN INTELLIGENT KEY...AND CONSEQUENTLY DIDNT PAY FOR ONE. WHEN I BUY SOMETHING, I EXPECT IT TO WORK, OR I EXPECT THEM TO FIX IT...OR I EXPECT THEM TO REFUND MY MONEY.
YOU SOUND MORE LIKE A GUY WHO BUYS A CAR FOR THE COLOR...SORRY TO WASTE YOUR TIME.

Default You've wasted ALL of our time........

You've paid "$40,000" dollars for a car yet you are too cheap to
buy a $10 cell phone holder to put the keyfob in and fix your problem, as one member suggested.

You were in a "bathroom, behind 7 interior drywalls , an exterior block and brick wall"??? Come on...if you looked to your left, you should've noticed you were probably squatting next to an open window.

You disrespected one of the more intelligent STATESMAN of this
fine forum, MR.3000 himself while rejecting some sound advise
to your dilemma by other members.

Many members of this board have saved myself and others hundreds if not thousands of dollars of costly repair bills and
time consuming visits to the dealer! Their value is priceless.

You are not wrapped too tight MR. PARKER. Perhaps your pants
are.
Have you considered wearing looser fitting jeans? so every time
you twitch, you wont have to worry about activating the big bad keyfob.

Your infested with paranoia of women getting raped in the back
of Mo's and you need a therapist. Good LORD! Where on earth
did you pluck THAT one from??????

Whoa!!!!....The sky hasn't fallen yet MR. PARKER

First - I try to avoid feeding trolls, but I can't resist this one

Second - I don't post much, but I've been around for a while, lurking

I have the intelligent key in my 06, I guess I've been lucky enough to NOT have the windows roll down accidentally, exposing me to all sorts of sexual predators...

I have been a complete ass and left my sunroof open overnight, and been *lucky* enough to have had it not only rain, but change over to a wet snow. Rude suprise the next morning. Guess what? the heated seats still work, power seats still move, and no moldy wet smell. A hell of a lot more water came in through that sunroof than a window would have let in.

I'm not calling in your issue, sorry. Good luck on your lawsuit. Of course, you could have just sold the car without saying why, but then you would miss out on the settlement money.

Oh, wow, where has THIS thread been? I needed a good laugh, albeit at the expense of Mr. Parker.

If I were a paralegal, I certainly would be in better financial shape than I am at this moment.

He has to know that those tiny little keyfobs don't have much range. You can't open anything after about 20 feet.

The man is delusional on so many levels it is not funny.

I was paranoid when I was younger. Kept looking behind me to see if anyone was following me. Unfortunately, every time i looked, they ducked into a side street or alcove. I never really got a good look at them.

i laughed so hard at this parker guy and your responses I almost lost dinner all over the monitor.
