Default Ignition Lock recall (not intelli key issue)

received notice of recall - seems to be that the wheel should only lock when in Park, but locks in other gears when ignition turned off.

Seems to me sort of a non-issue, who would turn the ignition off while still moving (that seems to be the reason for recall) ?

Also wheels has to be turned quite a bit (60 degrees?) for lock.

I saw that thread, this sounded like a different recall, with the ignition locking when it should NOT....

---------------------------

The recalls involve only the cars with "intelligent keys."

The lock device of the ignition key is not appropriately attached in some cars and it does not lock when the driver turns the engine off, according to Soma.

Hmmmmm..... Only time I would see this being necessary is if you wanted to put the car in neutral and push it around. Perhaps with towing?

Don't think I'll be rushing into the dealer for this one....

I am not taking in my car for this recall if they are going to stick on anything that is butt ugly again....I'm sure you all know what I'm referring to.

My response exactly. The last time a recall was carried out I came home with a snowplow attached under my car and Nissan will not handle my complaint. I can't imagine them fiddling with my ignition area. NO WAY!!
