I'm sure that's the reason. Nissan doesn't want to stick their head out for something they no longer have control over. But how do I know I'm buying the right parts if the dealership won't tell me what actually works with my model?

My personal oppionion is that all you need is a colour lcd, control unit for the lcd, a new radio unit, dvd control unit, antenna for the nav and a wiring harness. From my reading further up in the post if I understand correctly the nav system is a standalone system to a certain degree. The original poster states that he cut out what he needed from the wiring harness that he purchased and soughtered everything together there after. I would love to have a crack at this if this was possible because that is my interest. I can't do it on mine because it already has it and the truck can't have down time as it is in constant use.

Default OEM Navigation to 2006 Murano S

Hi Guys,

I have Nissan Murano 2006 S with color screen and I installed backup camera and it works fine, I completed my Navigation project by adding Navigation Unit from 2005 and Front Navigation panel and wiring from 2005, I cannot see the maps but when i go to diagnostic mode I see Navigation and GPS stuff but I cannot select them (As they are in grey).

Do I need different Display Control Unit for navigation purpose ? Can someone please help ???

Thanks

Sri

Hello Everyone,

Is there any fuse or any type of checks I need to make sure for Navigation to work, I checked all connections from dcu to nav all are correct based on wiring from Nissan manuals. I changed Dcu but still it dint work....

I can send my excel sheet I made it for connections if someone wants to help.

Thanks

Sri

From what I understand you'll need the following 2006/2007 parts if you already have the color screen.

Navigation Control Unit
Display Control Unit
Navigation/Audio/AC Unit
Antenna
Wiring Harness

The Display Control Unit for your current screen is not programmed to handle the navigation system. You'll need the DCU for a navigation system from what I understand.

There are other threads that cover a conversion from a non nav 06 to a nav 06.

Check out this thread. Details everything you need for 06-07 year MO's.

Oem Navigation Added To My 2006 Murano

If you're off on your parts list then your system won't work.
