2006 murano oil capacity

Hi, I changed oil with filter recently. In the owner's manual it says oil capacity is 4.25 quarts with filter. However, after I put in exactly 4.25 and it seems oil barely made above the Low mark. Has anyone experienced the same issue? How much oil do you guys usually put in with a filter change for a 2006 murano?

Thanks in advance.

With my first year of ownership in '04 4.25 quart was right on but now I put about 4.5 quarts. Just fill it to full line mark. No big deal unless there is an obvious oil leak.

I usually pour in a smidge over 4.5 quarts. It really depends how long you let it drain - the dry capacity of the engine is about 5qts I think and the manual lists both specs.

It takes about 1/2 qt to cover the low to full lines on the dipstick.

Also I "precharge" my oil filter by pouring oil into it and letting it soak into the element before I spin it back onto the engine.

Colgan Bra, Mobil One, JWT POP charger
PAC aux input adapter, hardwired Escort Passport x50, KUDA mount for MP3 player, Porterfield R4S brake pads (now Akebono ProACT), ATE Superblue
Yokohama Envigor (much improved over stock Goodyears)
Lots of squeaks and rattles.

niketennis-

The 4.25 quarts is an approximation.

When I change the oil I lift the front end slightly and then let the oil drain for 15 minutes. That may account for the extra half-quart I get. My MO usually takes just under five quarts after the filter change.
