Default 2003 Nissan Murano starts then stalls

Okay,

I tried searching this forum first before posting so please respond if you can help.

2003 Nissan Frontier SE with 85K
Problem: Car starts then RPM's drop below 500 and the car stalls. This happens 7 out of 10 times and it occurs on cold and warm starts. I have tried the idle relearn procedure mentioned several times with only minor improvements before it goes back to the same as before. I have also run through a tank of 93 octane with a bottle of the fuel injector cleaner. Air filter is clean (K&N) with no visible buildup. No check engine light is on.

Any suggestions? I was thinking to check Mass air and throttle body next.

Is it a Frontier or a Murano. Actually probably doesn't matter - I suspect a bad mass air sensor.

Thanks. It's actually a Murano that my wife drives. I drive the Frontier

I'll try the MAF and see if that works.

Try some gas line antifreeze first. I had similar issues last winter and that fixed it. Can't hurt trying before the MAF.

My '03 Murano sometimes starts then RPM's go down and it falls on its face. If i restart the car usually catches itself and stays running but it's becoming more frequent. I was thinking about the MAF also but wanted to check here first.

OPT, yeah that's what mine did. i was into the local walmart the other day to get my oil changed and they tested the battery and the voltage was low, im thinking that might have had something to do with it as well. the cca for the batter was suppose to be 600 it tested at 330 also.

IIRC, symptoms of a bad MAF is normally power loss and the inability to get your RMPs above 2500 - 3000. I would check the Idle Air Control Valve.

Default My 03 murano is starting then stalling too

My car is having the same symptoms and took it to the dealer and they said it started fine for them and nothing is wrong. How did you end up fixing it?
