Default 2004 Mo wheel bearings

Just curious. Is it possible to replace the bearings in the front wheel hubs or do you HAVE TO replace the entire hub assembly?

Entire hub. MUCH, MUCH easier than disassembling such a unit to replace bearings.

What are the symptoms of failing wheel bearings? Over the last month I've had increasing road noise; a sort of 'wub.....wub.....Wub....Wub....WUb...WUb...WUB..WU B..' sound. As vehicle speed increases, the sound increases loudness and frequency-per-second. To my untrained ears it sounds like the tires but they have under 15k miles on them (I had the wheels road-force balanced plus the alignment adjusted when they were new) and I get them rotated every oil change. Any ideas?

If you go fast and put your gear in neutral and you still hear the hub, hub, hub, then you can eliminate the engine and transmission. Now you are left with the wheel bearing, tires, axles.
