I spent two days reading the threads on installing the ipod adapter. For the life of me I can not find the pre-wired satalite white adapter in my car. I looked behind the driver seat and it is not there. I looked in the cargo area where the tire is but everything is bolted down? Can anyone help me? Here are my specs
2006 Nissan Murano S - Basic Radio - No boise - No Sat - No Nav. If anyone has pictures of where the plug is I would be so thankful.. or if anyone is in west Texas or New Mexico that knows where i can bring it to get it installed? Thanks!!

I am going to go out on a limb and state something but I am not sure it is completely accurate. I would check with your dealer to verify.
I don't believe the "S" trim line uses the same audio harness as the SL and SE where the Bose system with SAT integration comes standard. Because of this, you probably wouldn't find the interface that you are looking for. This would require a wiring job and then again, I am not sure your Nissan OEM iPod Interface would actually work because it's tied to the XM controls and radio head-end which your radio does not have. As for me, on my SL I folded down my rear seat backs, lifted the spring loaded masonite divider (between the bottom of the seat back and the floor of the cargo area -- under the split carpet) and had full access to around a five inch wide channel the full width of the car in front of the wheel wells. The cable was snaked right there (thick, black, "s" shaped for giving slack and taped down) and the connector was very very obvious. My install including double sided taping and strapping the interface, snaking the ipod cable under my rear floor mat, and plugging in my ipod under my drivers seat -- four minutes. Good luck. I can try to take a picture a bit later with my cell for you. AGE |

Thanks, from what I have read all trims from 2003 + were prewired Not possitive if that is true but thats what people have been saying?? I am going to tear into it this evening and look again, if you have pictures that would be wonderful. I have folded down the back seat and lifted the flap there is a black coiled cable with a white box but it is plugged into. If I try to look from the back I cant get to it because the tire cover and stuff are boldted down. Now if I pull up the tire cover and stuff there is a little green plug with nothing in it, I am thinking that is the pre-wire for a back up camera? I will also take picures tonight and maybe that'll yall helping me. Thanks again.

Hey Dallas Gal... Here are some rather bad photos representing my iPod Interface install.
Ipod Int 1... a bit washed out by the sun... The interface unit is behind the driver's side passenger seat back. There is a frame cross member that has a relatively flat spot plus holes to route the tie strap through. On the flat spot is double-sided neoprene sticky tape. Soft and durable. The unit rides on that and with the tie-straps, doesn't move or rattle (metal to metal removed). The interface ports face forward so that I can maximize cable length. The black connector on the right is the iPod cable... I route that out from under the passenger seat and simply drop it under my rear floor mat to under my drivers seat where I place my iPod in a black cloth sack hidden from sight. Ipod Int2 is a better view of the SAT Cable interface connector. If I remember, I untapped it from the cable harness and simply snaked it around to mate with the interface cable that came with the OEM iPod Interface. The entire harness was strapped down right where the interface is. It was "right there... couldn't miss it." Ipod Int3 is another view and you can see the neoprene pad, and black tie-strap holding it in place. White SAT interface connector "right there" and the black round iPod interface cable running down to the right under the seat back and bottom... pushed right through and I snaked it a bit to the right side of the floor mat. Note that the adapter is almost on top of the seat belt buckle anchor. Also note that the leaf in the lower right is an added option. This is how Nissan got the idea for the Nissan Leaf EV. My royalty checks are slow in coming these dsays. ![]() Hope this helps a bit. Let me know how else I can help. AGE |

On my 2005 SL I used harness (999U7-VS000) to connect the unused satellite connector to the interface box (999U7-ST000).
I hope this helps. -njjoe

I checked my old post and found that I ordered the Nissan iPod Interface kit (999U7-IPDNOST for $153.95) and Harness (999U7-VS000 for $31) from Courtesy Nissan. If I remember correctly, it turned out I did not need the harness because it was already included in the kit, so I returned it.

I can recommend the USA-SPEC unit. I got one about a year ago for my 2007 S model with base radio (no Bose, no Sat and no Nav) and have been very happy with it. It has inputs for both iPhone/iPod devices and an aux input for anything else. It also charges your iPhone/iPod. I don't know if the Nissan part does either of those. There is full control of the iPhone/iPod (but not for aux devices) through the radio and steering wheel. I got mine through Crutchfield (because I ordered new speakers at the same time). There are several threads in the Forums about both the Nissan part and the USA-SPEC device. You can't go wrong with either one.
