Need info on repairing/replacing passenger mirror bracket

Someone hit my 2003 Nissan Murano on the passenger side, which knocked the mirror off the car. Luckily the mirror isn't cracked and all the wiring is intact and operational. The problem is that the bracket that attaches the mirror unit to the actual vehicle is just dangling by the wires.

For the time being I have the unit taped in place with electrical tape (options were limited), and now I am in pursuit of a more permanent and visually pleasing fix. A friend told me it could be fixed with epoxy, however I am skeptical to this fix. Has anyone had experience with this type of damage? What is the best way to fix it? I am due for inspection this month anyway so at the very worst I can have it replaced with a factory piece, though that's likely more expensive than I'm planning for.

Any help would be appreciated!! If necessary I can post photos of the damage.

Your mirror is made up of multiple parts. Part that you have broken is part # 96932. You can buy that piece separately from a vendor selling Nissan parts, the junk yard, etc..

By the way, if you go with the complete mirror assembly it costs $220+ and that does not include having it painted. You might want to just go with part # 96932 as replacment of just this part will cost you less.. Before ordering, do verify this part # with the dealer parts dept. to assure it is the correct part number.
