Default 2006 Murano Newbie

Hi, I just purchased a 2006 FWD Murano SL with 62K. Does anyone have any advice about things to watch out for? When I bought it the brake pedal squeeks but research is showing that might be a stop switch. That is the only thing i found wrong with it. I love the sound of the 3.5 when you start the Murano up!

Thanks

Thanks for responding, I hope that I enjoy it. My friend has a 2004 MO with 170K and everything is falling apart on it. Scares me a little but thats a lot of miles and I dont think he kept up on maintence much.

170,000 miles on a 7-year-old car that you suspect may be poorly maintained is pretty dang good in my book. I would think the owner definitely got his money's worth and should not be surprised that some parts now require servicing.

Enjoy the ride.

Welcome. My 2006 SL AWD hit 56K yesterday. Just put fresh rubber on her and working on new brakes (possibly with rotors... expect to do all the work myself). Right now, no real complaints. Nissan stepped up a CVT Transmission guarantee that you may need to look into. I don't know if it is transferrable but evidently, they thought some bad press about the CVT was worth addressing and informed owners of 2006 that they would extend the CVT Warranty. I think it was for either 100K or 120K. Food for thought.

Otherwise, my baby still is a bit throaty, still has plenty of balls, still has a great ride... my only complaint is the AWD aspect. Should have more manual engagement control with a greater range of manual speed allowance.

Welcome.

The warranty is transferrable, 10 years or 120K on all models with CVT prior to 2010, at least I think its 2010.

Unless you've been trailer towing, street racing or autocrossing, there is no way you should need rotors at only 56K. And as for manual control of your CVT, that's why some of us opted for SE's with the manual shift mode.
