Lightbulb Humming/Rubbing noise from front left drivers wheel.

Hi guys i recently have been hearing a rubbing noise or humming noise coming from the left front drivers wheel. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the wheel bearing but the sound is still there, then they said that it looks like it can be that the caliper is sticking or something like that, and the non-manufacturers warranty doesn't cover that...so does anybody have any idea what it can be?my mo has 72k on it rite now.

Thanks in advance.

does it make the noise when you turn the steering wheel? or only when driving straight?

Sounds like your front drivers hub to me. Time to swap it out: Murano Bearing Assembly - Ebay

OP: the "wheel bearing" is contained in a hub assembly...there is no bearing that can be replaced without replacing the hub.

Sounds like the OP has had that hub changed - although unless they showed him the old hub, if I were him I'd get under it and see if there's a new shiny hub in there. Sure sounds like the hub bearing to me, unless there's something really unusual going on with the brake on that corner.

Ooops...my bad. Probably should read it!

Maybe take your entire front drivers side brake set apart and regrease everything? Maybe there is something going on with the clips that is causing the humming. Resonance frequency maybe. Take it apart, lube everything up, then put it back together, and listen. Might take care of it!

I think he meant spraying the front disks. Tire doesn't make any sense.

Be careful what you spray on a rotor - no petroleum products, lubricants or WD-40.

Yes, if you have a brake dragging, it will be hot. However, using the brakes will also make them hot - so try NOT to use the brakes in the last couple minutes of driving.

So here's a crazy idea. Have to do a bit of explaining before I ask the question.

I have a repetitive humming noise; kind of like frumping, coming from what i think is the front drivers side only after sitting for a while. Goes away after I start moving for a bit. I just swapped out the front struts when it started. Does not happen when I turn the steering wheel. Only happens when my MO is moving forward. I checked the front drivers side brakes this afternoon and regreased everything. Still there.

Could the noise be coming not from the hub/bearing but from the upper strut mount? How freely are those supposed to move?

When I swapped out the struts I noticed there was quite a bit of resistance in turning the upper strut mount. If they're supposed to move extremely freely like a good lubed bearing then those might be it.

So I had to leave my MO outside last night due to clutter in the garage from the previous night's brake lube check. Got lazy when putting tools away. I sat down in the drivers side this morning and I heard the frump noise! Of course I jump out of my MO and start rocking it back and fourth and I could hear it. I think the noise is coming from the upper strut mount. It was in the same area as the back of the hood on the drivers side closest to the windshield.

WTF?!?!? Can anybody explain why a strut mount would cause this noise? I'm confused here. Do these things require replacement during a strut change? Should I have lubed it somewhere?

Extremely confused here!
