Hi there,
I'm a proud owner of a Murano 2005 for the last 3 years. She has 65.000 miles and since some time ago, I earing some noise when push and release the gas pedal. Sound like something between "computer noise" and a whistle. I made a video when the sound is clearly, maybe some of you may have any idea about what could it be. Thanks a lot!! |

Can't see the video at my work because they firewall YouTube. If it's what I call a repetitive electronic whirring noise, then it's one of your electronic motor mounts. If you can duplicate it easily, then I suggest having your wifey or a friend in the car tapping the gas pedal. You be under the car listening for the noise. The sound should be coming from either the front one or the back one. The number of electric mounts you have will depend if your MO is AWD or 2WD.
Good luck!

Ha! The dealership is full of S**T. Please don't purchase any part from the dealership...EVER!
What I would do if I were you is ask them for the part number of the mount that needs to be changed. Then take that part number (should be a combination of 10 letters and numbers) and go to World Parts Express and type in that number. It will bring up the part you need and a competitive price. On a quick search on my 04 MO, here's what I found: 04 MO Motor/CVT Mounting Schematic & Parts Then you can take your MO down to a local shop and have them install the part. That is, if you don't have the mechanical know-how to do it yourself. That way you don't overpay for the part and you get a better labor rate.

Thanks Warhammer, I thought the same thing about the dealer.
BTW, is an urgent thing to replace the engine mount (if its wrong of course)?? or I can wait some time (in the meanwhile buy the part and look for some garaje) Could I run some miles with this little sound without problem or mess the ecu? Besides that, are there any differece between engine mount if the car is 2WD or AWD? Regards |

You can wait a bit on the mounts if you want. But...if you start getting some bad vibrations at idle or at lower RPM's then I would change the noisy one. If you're not getting vibes at this point, you'll just have to live with the noise. My front motor mount would make the repetitive noise the last couple years during very cold weather. Never consistent though.
I'm not sure about the passenger side mount. The AWD and 2WD model motor mounts are different on the front and back mounts. Both are electrical on the AWD models. I confirmed this with my dealership earlier today as I'm scrutinizing my motor mounts too. I have slight vibes still after swapping out front struts. The part numbers I got for my 04 MO SL AWD were the following: Front: 11270-CM20B Back: 11320-CA01E Passenger: 11210-CA00B These things ain't cheap at the dealership! You can find these on the World Parts Express website if you type in the specific part number and select Nissan as the make. Don't go with Ebay unless you know for sure you're getting the AWD parts. 95% of the mounts sold on Ebay are for the 2WD model. Also, be sure to double check these P/N's with your dealership. Give the parts department your VIN and they'll look up the parts that will fit your MO. Good luck!
