Just purchased a 04 murano yesterday and pick it up tomorrow. Most reviews I have read are positive, but combing through these forums I notice a lot of mechanical problems. I am very excited to get it, but hope mine doesn't have some of the major problems I am reading about. Is there a series of VIN numbers that is affected? Any thing to watch out for? Thanks in advance for your responses!

HI Good luck with the car. I had a 05 and put 105000 on it with NO issues. I did have the extended warranty and only did struts and some front end work under warranty. Keep in mind you do have the 120000 mile 10 year on the CVT transmission ONLY not the Transfer case. It is a great car ,and I just got a new 11. If you have any questions just ask. This is a great place.

Things to check: -CVT or Transfer case leaks, You will want to get under the car and look it over well for leaks from these areas. If you run out of Tcase fluid it will be an expensive fix. CVT is easy to keep an eye on the fluid level. Tcase not easy to check at all. -Oil leaks from above the drain plug are usually caused by the oil cooler, easy fix. -Mirrors can not work in on hot days -Drivers seat frame can break -Rear hatch handle and latch tend to rust out -Electrical problems due to bad grounds or failed modules (ABS in my case caused several lights on the dash to come on, took several trips to Nissan to repair) Those are things that happend to me.. Ive also heard of others with problems with: -Motor mounts -Fuel Dampers -Alternator Hopefully your was taken care of and you wont have any problems! |

I bought my MO by a dealer and it was a limo Service now at(110k) withOut issues, I'm lucky it was well maintained by the service when it was still used by the dealer, ball joints changed, stabilizer link rear, and the rest wer ok, I want to keep my MO as long it won't give me a headache
