So I just bought an 04 with 111,xxx Miles. I need to replace the bumper and I was wondering if the 2007 bumper fits? I know there were some changes in 07... what about the led tailights? Thanks.

The LED tails are not simply plug-n-play. You will need to cobble together an interface box in order to get them to work on your MO. Do a forum search and you can see what is involved. The '04 and '07 bumpers are not identical. I believe the latter has slots cut into the top to facilitate the mounting of the bumper protector. However, the mounting points may be similar. -njjoe

Out of curiosity, why not just source a 2004 bumper?

If you need the bumper cover (fascia) I can't help. If you need the actual bumper that is aluminum and is under the cover, I have one that I'll sell for $10 plus shipping. It's just taking up space in the garage since I installed a factory trailer hitch on my 2007 model.

Thanks Pilgrim, I havent pulled the old cover yet, But I`ll certainly keep that in mind if I need it, I too may be installing a tow hitch...Is the factory hitch a new inner bumper?
I`m not against an 04, I just seem to be coming across more 06 and 07 for some reason. Plus, If i can find a replacement bumper that already has the late model bumper protector that would be a plus....wont have to use double sided tape! Thanks guys. |

The least expensive option is an aftermarket hitch and it doesn't require pulling the bumper fascia to install. The factory hitch is a good option and shows less from behind, but it's more expensive and requires more labor to install. I have done it and I'll add a link to my thread showing you the process.
The factory hitch requires a different aluminum bumper under the fascia - OR you could use a metal saw and modify the stock bumper to fit the hitch. The stock bumper is made in an arc and the hitch is a straight line, so there's a good-sized notch cut out of the aluminum bumper on each end where the hitch intersects it. Check the photos in my thread and I think you'll see it. You could modify a stock bumper, or you can order the hitch-type replacement for about $100 if you search the web. Here's the thread: Factory hitch mounted - with pics

2007 parts will fit on the 2004. I had a rear end accident last year that left procuring parts for repair. I liked the 06-07 rear bumper cover so I got that one. Fits perfectly!
