Default 2003 murano with new ticking noise

Hello

I have a 2003 Nissan murano with 133000km with a new ticking noise coming from the engine. I have changed the power steering, brake, and cvt fluid with genuine Nissan and use castrol Semi syntec oil 5w30. I have also replaced the battery and front bearings this year. Besides the noise the truck is smooth and responsive. I dont understand what else is wrong. Attached is a link to youtube for a video clip. please help

Thank you

Wally-

Welcome to the forum.

It may be nothing more than a noisy injector.

Get yourself a mechanics stethoscope and use it to pinpoint the source of the noise.

Agreed..a mechanic's stethoscope is cheap at parts stores, and is very handy. Please keep yourself out of the moving parts!!

That tick sounds a bit like a bad spark plug wire shorting to ground. Try looking at it with the engine idling at night with the hood up, and see if you can spot any sparks...this would not be visible during the day.

And BTW - a Murano is not a truck. it's a passenger car with an SUV body, normally called a crossover. Don't use it like a truck - especially the transfer case.

Unhappy Engine noise

Well after going to the dealer for 2 new belts was told it was the ac pulley. After new belts and pulley and some recall items installed, the noise is still there. I was told it was normal sound after going back to Inquire. Also they did not put 3/4 of the black plastic screws back in the engingine/air duct assembly area. I am going to be in the market for a new suv in feb, this makes me want another Nissan. I don't think so, so sad the service is not up to others.

Canned answer: "It's normal".

Does the ticking noise increase in speed when you give it some gas?

Update, went to another dealer today to get the transfer and rear diff fluid changed was only $110 so not too bad. Was advised that oil cooler seal on the filter housing was leaking and may have some hands in my problem. Was shown the leak so agreed to fix as well. It was 125. If it does not solve the problem at least there won't be no oil on my garage floor anymore. Surprise surprise it still ticks. How can 2 dealers not know their own cars. Funny while waiting a salesman caught me eyeing the juke and did a sales pitch, ha ha I thought never see another Nissan in my driveway unless it belongs to the pizza delivery guy.

Default Strange noise was gone and came back

Was out doing some Xmas shopping today and thought Santa came early as it sounded like the noise was gone. But after I left the mall it came back. Really need to fix this as its driving me crazy. Any one know a good Nissan mechanic in Toronto I can trust? Or at least knows what they are doing? Thanks
