Default Buying a murano help

so i am looking to buy a murano and was wondering if there is anything helpful stuff to look for when buying one. i have been reading some about CVT failure and things like that and just wondering if there are anything else everyone suggestion really paying attention to when going to look at them. the vehicle will be for my wife.

i am a very big toyota 4runner guy and we have a forum very similar to this one which is great and this one seems to be same. i hope soon to get a murano so i can be on this site alot just as i am my 4runner site

so any help anyone could give would be appreciated! thanks!

Have the front end checked for:

- Drive axle seal leaks
- Power steering hose leaks
- ANY leak or seepage from the transfer case

The first two are user-fixable if you're good at mechanics - the last one is not, and it's $1500 or more to have fixed. You can't live with a transfer case leak because the case holds very little lube and is difficult to fill.

Also - remember that this is a passenger car with an SUV body. The transfer case will not tolerate the same loads or driving that a 4WD transfer case will. You need to plan on using it as a passenger vehicle, not off-road.

Did you looked underneath to check if there are any tell tale signs of leakage?
That is the first thing you do.

sure did! the dealer aloud us to take it home overnight till 6 today. so i actually drove it around a bit and then brought it home and put a piece of white cardboard under it all night that way if there is a leak i could see it on the cardboard. and it was clean this morning. then i took it to my garage and put it on the lift and did a really good inspection on it.

i was surprised to find on that inspection i notice the lower control arms had been replaced. i was wondering why but neverless it is always good to have new oem parts.

did any muranos have problem with their lower control arms?
