Default New 03 owner - more questions

We just bought a beautiful blue 03 Murano SE with 92,000. The vehicle seems in great shape and well taken care of. We really love the blue, and the paint is in great shape all around.

A couple of questions maybe some of you could answers (by the way, I have spent some time going through the forum, but haven't had a chance to get through it all of course).

First, the trim models available are S, SL, and SE for 03, right? Is the SE more the "sport" model? I think it has a different wheel rim, and I think the suspension is more "sportier", but what other differences are there between the three trim models?

Second, I have read a bunch of different Satellite radio threads on this forum, but I am still very confused about it. My wife REALLY wants the built in Satellite radio to be installed, vs. getting an external unit. I think I read in another forum that the 03 is not wired up for it, but why would they put in a satellite capible radio in the vehicle, and not make it available? Does anyone else have an 03 with working satellite radio? (built in) The nissan dealer says nissan sells a radio and antenna, but it's not very cheap. Does anyone have another option other than the dealer for some sort of aftermarket setup for less money?

Finally, I also priced out a tow hitch at the dealer and with a local hitch installer place. The dealer wanted about $370 dollars for a Class II hitch and some sort of bumper add on, along with a wire harness. That price didn't include installation. The hitch place wanted $429 out the door for installation and parts. That seems like a lot of money for a hitch, and I was just wondering if anyone else has added a tow hitch to their vehicle and how much they paid for it?

Thanks!

Oh, another question - Our Murano has the Navigation system. I found and updated disk online for $149. Is nothing inexpensive for this car?

Any other places someone might know where I can get an updated DVD for less money? Thanks!

Welcome to the club!

In 2003, the "S" model was not available, just the SL & SE.

The SE has different rims, and a slightly different "sportier" suspension. (That, and only the cool kids have one!)

If you have the Bose sound system, you should be able to install satellite radio, the connectors are in place. If, no Bose, I'm not sure....

Your other questions can be (have been) answered in this forum. Just browse around, do a search and you'll find a plethora of information!

Enjoy!
