Default Wiring behind rear view mirror

Hi guys,

Recently I have found that there is a connection/harness that is connected to the back of the center rear view mirror, does any one know what this is for?
The mirror is not home link.
I thought it might be the auto dimming function but the mirror can be adjusted manually to reduce glare so I think that might not be it.
Can't think of anything it might be used for.
My MO is a JDM.
Help appreciated.

Oh yes, that too..., but it dosn't display anything???

All Offtopic njjoe, I see in your sig you have HID fog, how did you change out the bulbs? (the side blocked by washer fluid tank), did you have to remove the whole bumper?
And where did you install the ballast?
Cheers

Most likely it's the home link harness. You can add the home link mirror with compass if you want...search for my thread and buy one on EBay.

My 07 didn't have a harness so I just bought one with a stub harness and wired it in. Easy job, only three connections: 12v always live, ground, and a switched 12v connection you can run from the fusebox. A multi-meter can easily confirm whether the wires in your harness fit this description.

If you mean the wee box with a wire running off to the drivers side (under the roof lining) it's an antenna for the electronic road toll system they use in Japan.
