Default Vibrating and wild wobbling noise while breaking...

Hi guys, this forum is fantastic and has a lot of useful information.

But I search for this specific problem and it looks like all other cases are different from mine.

The problem: while driving above 20-30 m/h apply breaks with middle strength - the faster I go the worse problem, there is a wob-wob-wob sound which increases in frequency with speed. It looked like the breaks, but after replacement the problem did not go . Mechanic said he does not know (he is actually good, but not a specialist in Muranos). Suggested it could be a transmission or drive shaft ( hm? ). This is very bad and loud noise, very scary, especially with hard break (like stop on red or any other situation when you need to apply breaks pretty good. The sound is not like metal-metal but maybe better to describe as metal-hardwood. New rotors and pads made breaking softer and smother, but the wob-wob sound did not change. He inspected wheels hardware and said there is nothing unusual, everything was good.

PS Few years ago I had to replace front engine mount, the sound was similar but one time knock and much more intense when rapidly accelerated. I would think of this sound as something heavy is bumping into a car frame with frequency of wheel rotation. I am not sure if I described everything in good English (which is my second language )

Thanks!

One interesting note, it looks like the harder I apply breaks, the sound/vibration is less, if I apply the breaks lightly, the sound/vibration is not noticeable.

Possibly the bushings from the lower control arm. Is your steering normal? Another Engine mount?--you have 4....how many did you replace before? Wheel hub splines may need greasing?

Do you have AWD? If yes, do you have the awd button engaged often/all the time?

It's Murano SL FWD 2004 with ~100K. Other than breaking, everything looks ok.
Only one front Mount was replaced, don't think it's mounts, because sound looks like in sync with wheels rotation.

I'd have a good mechanic check the front hubs and the front end. The problem is in some combination of parts.

What kind of tires? Every set of Yokohama's I have ever owned has done this exact thing no matter what car it was on. My 07 Versa Sedan did it, My 07 Murano is doing it right now. Just bought this one with the set already on and soon to be replaced.

Just a small remark, my Yokohama Avid tires are excellent, great grip in corners, rain and light snow, and quiet ride.
