Default Interior trim replacement?

Hey all,

Considering an 06 MO, but it has a fake wood trim for the center dash and armrests of the doors. Honestly, it's hideous w/ the tan leather interior, and I'd prefer the standard aluminum look.

Anyone know of a good source to replace it, and how hard it is to do?

Is the "fake wood trim" an overlay kit with the aluminum pieces underneith it? Some companies sell wood trim kits that just stick over the existing trim. If it is an overlay kit, the aluminum should be under it so you can just carefully peal it off and clean it to get your aluminum look back.

Otherwise, we'd need pictures to see exactly where the wood trim is. Then we can advise the exact parts you'll need to replace to get you back to the standard brushed aluminum look.

I don't believe it's an overlay from when I had my hands on it, but I'll take another look. I've attached some pix that show the sections I'm referring to. The same applies for the rear which is just around the power window switch.

I bet there is someone on this forum who would be more than happy to do a swap. The wood grain kit is an expensive option. I suggest posting a request in the Classified section of this forum and asking for an even swap. You should get a few takers.

You can peel it off and need a good cleaner to reveal your aluminum trim, mine have a kind of wood too but not this type, doesn't look bad anyway @nijoe maybe you mean swap the whole Car not the trim LOL

I wouldn't do that if I were you. The woodgrain kits are individual pieces, not stick-ons placed over the OEM pieces. Each piece is either screwed or snapped in place. Peeling off the woodgrain overlay may leave you with a messy dash.
