Looking to replace Camshaft position sensors(2) on 2003 Nissan Murano, however, the Dealer wants an arm and leg for parts. Any suggestions for parts online. Didn't really want the parts from China or make the dealer any richer.

How much is an arm and a leg exactly for these sensors? These sensors are prob two of the most important sensors on your engine so you should not go with cheap parts or you may end up being stranded at the worst possible time.
If im not mistaken, these sensors go for about $65-80 each. Thats not too shabby imo. Could be alot worse, on older Nissan models with internal cam sensors inside the distributors, you would have to replace and entire distributor for a faulty cam sensor costing in the hundreds of dollars. |

I got mine from Advance auto parts, hard to beat when you order online, pick up in store and use their coupon codes to save tons of money! Google Advance auto parts coupon codes and you'll get a bunch. My latest bargain-new t-stat, gasket, two gallons of coolant, 2 air fresheners (to get the order to $75) used A123-got $30 off order, so $48 with tax for all that not too shabby since the t-stat alone was listed at $42.

New to the forum,
Advance wants $62 and the dealer wants $108 for the same thing. My code says that it is phase 1 bank 1, but im going to replace both of them, but my problem is, I dont know where they are on my 03 Mo. Can one of you folks tel me? I also got a code for misfire on cylinder#4, could that be a plug? I bought my MO at an auction and im keeping it. It runs great but the SES light is on, I really like this car abd just put NITTO NT-850 tires on it, and Im already planning a few mor mods so if I can get this resolved, I would be greatful. Thanks Inkman. |

I did both of mine as well. Bank 1 is to the front of the engine compartment. It uses the angled sensor. Bank 2 is toward the back, it uses the straight one. Look for the green connectors.

My comments: I'd replace only the bad one. No need to mess with the other. AFAIK this is not one of those things where if one goes, the other is on the way out.
