Default Maybe a Stupid AWD question

I purchased an 07 Murano S AWD, 2 months ago and could not be happier. I decided to test out the AWD in our first snowfall and pressed the switch for AWD lock and seemed to be working fine, however after a few min the AWD lock light turned off by itself, is this normal??? This is also my first AWD vehicle so this may be a stupid question can anyone help.

The AWD LOCK button only works at very low speeds to send power 50/50 front and rear and will shut itself off once that speed is met. It's meant to be used while stuck in snow/sand etc. Once off, your AWD system continues to work normally sending power front to rear as needed.

Please read the owner's manual - the AWD is functioning as it should.
