Default Replaced Camshaft sensor now car wont start

Replaced the straight (rear) camshaft sensor. Then tried to start the car and the car just wont start. Keeps cranking but wont start.
Replaced the camshaft sensor back (bad one) and the car is back to old symptom (hard starting - cranking for 3-4 seconds before start).

Would it be safe to assume the camshaft sensor is DOA? Bought it from ebay new for about 32 bucks shipped.

Thanks.

I would say DOA sounds just about right. How much is it from a local shop?

Autozone has it for about $60.

Gonna see what this joker says about the DOA first. may have to swallow the $60 but will want to get refund first.

I have not tackled this myself yet so I really don't know but if you can manage the same spacing from where the pickup is then I don't think it would be an issue, at least for testing it out.

Just make sure you don't force anything when the wrong one in.

Sensors can be temperemental at times. Like the honda O2 sensors, only the oem and 1 aftermarket company will work on them...the rest of them seems to give problems.

Why do you think this is your problem? I did not get that part? Did you get a code for it?
