My MO has entered the shop....

so ive had the MO 3 months, 03 sl AWD woke up one morning and heard a rattle at start up, start driving and trans feels like its slipping, around turns a loud hum and what feels like a jerking back and forth tug of war kinda feeling, go to my local nissan dealer, few hours later im told i shouldnt be driving the truck. says transfer case was leaking, drained fluids and found metal shavings, also trans needs replacing that will be done under nissan warranty, transfer case, lower control arms, valve covers, torn cv boot are getting done through my extended warranty, so close to 8k in repairs.

Who was your extended warranty through??? Was it a third party or through Nissan?

3rd party, Mercury Insurance i believe, second time ive had them within a 7 year span, no issues and full coverage both times ive made a claim. not too bad!

so i had a strange feeling they would do all that work and end up with a bad rear end, sure enough i get the call that they ran into a problem during the test drive, rear end needs to be replaced, add another 1, 1.5 k to the bill.
