Attached is a photo of my 2006 Mo's fuel economy display stopped at a traffic light. Car probably has around 3 gallons of gas in it (my son is driving, so hard to tell). It would be awesome if I got 63.5 mpg, but realistic numbers are in the 22-23 mpg range.
I do that all the time with my truck... reset the calculation while I'm going down the highway, then see how high I can keep the number. Of course my numbers are more frequently in the 20's...
Did that before myself. On the highway cruising at about 55mph, I can get it in the mid 30's but I usually average 20.9 (actual long term reading when initially reset while rolling on the road) with both city and expressway driving combined. The highest the Murano will read is 99 mpg. Did it on a trip in Colorado, going downhill for roughly 45 minutes in total, when I reset it and hit 99mpg...wont show you any more as far as I know.
I did mine going down the mountain on I-77 into VA this past summer and got 66 mpg. That was until I got down onto the flat, then it settled into the mid 20's.
I should have stated ACTUAL NUMBERS, and not realistic numbers. I'll ask my son if he reset the fuel economy readout while driving, and also to make sure he resets each time when refueling.
I wish we had the fuel computer here in the UK. I'm getting 25mpg in my MO but had it converted to run on LPG which is half the price of petrol so makes it very economical.
