Default Keyfob quit working

Hi all,

I have an 04 SL, i recently replaced the batteries in both of my keyfob's to find non of them work at all now. I have checked the batteries with my voltmeter and they are fine. Do you have to somehow reprogram the fob's after changing the battery.

Many Thanks

Default Key fob

Hey,

Replaced both batteries in my 2006 Murano key fobs last month. Worked right from the start, no reprogramming/reset needed.

I've replaced the batteries in my key fob in the past with no problems. Perhaps you put the batteries in upside down.

Sometimes the metal contacts that touch the battery become flattened, try and pull them back up with your key and then give it a try. That happened to me last month.

Just to rule out the obvious, your car battery is not dead right?

Is there anything else that isn't working on your MO, like an interior light? If so, then look at your fuses.

I've checked the batteries with a volt meter and they are fine, checked the metal contact tabs, they are fine also.

As far as i know everything is working (no blown fuses), however i will double check today.

Thanks

Check the circuit board inside your FOB for missing components. Look carefully at the pads because you'll see what looks like disturbed solder. I had to resolder a part in mine to get it to work.
