Hello all. So here we go again. My MO is making some clunking noise coming from the drivers side of the front end.
Here's the symptoms:
clunking sound heard when moving steering wheel from side to side while parked and when coming to a stop and accelerating from a stop, and when going over bumps on road and when pulling up curb to go into driveway.
So here's where I ask for help in trying to diagnose this problem. Any thoughts on the culprit?
I'm thinking Outer Tie Rod End. Last time I replaced the drivers side one was back in January 2012. MO had about 86,400 miles. It now has just about 107,500. Brand I used is Moog.
I remember I went for an alignment after getting new tires and the Tech at Sears told me and showed me the outer tie rod end was bad and needed to be replaced before the alignment could be done. I looked up on YouTube how to replace it and did it myself.
Anyhow, I guess before I start messing with it and trying to find the problem, I wanted to get the opinions of all of you first.
I'm starting a new job so I won't have much time to work on my MO as I used to. May have to take it to a shop to get fixed but of course don't want to take it blindly as they tend to want to replace stuff that don't need replacing to get more money out of you. Main reason why I've been doing just about all the work on my MO myself.
