HI. I'm new to the forum and finding the info discussed very informative. My wife has a 2007 Murano SE AWD. It just had a lot of front suspension work done and a box she ran over on the highway, popped off the left rear torsion bar link which has been replaced. Also the alternator was just replaced. Now the AWD light in the dash will not go out. Tried the switch several times with no luck. Any suggestions to discover the problem and repair it. (BTW I took it in for the alternator replacement but did all of the ball joints, tb link and tie rod ends myself. I also checked the connector was in place on the rear diff.)
First thing I would try is to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes(not more). Within this 5 minutes..... turn the ignition switch on at least one time to drain any capacitors.
If no change, then it could be fuse or the switch itself.
Was the light on before she ran over the box? If not, there is an electrical connector by the rear differential that engages the AWD clutchpack. See if that has been damaged.
When I damaged a wheel speed sensor (while replacing a wheel bearing) I think my AWD stayed on till I fixed it. It might have been my ABS light though (which makes more sense). So maybe check that the sensors are intact, especially if it came on after your suspension work.
