Default 2004 Murano -STINKS - literally

Hi guys -

I bought my 2004 Murano brand new and have put about 135K miles on it. Just this summer, the car has started to STINK. It almost smells of mold, wet rags.

I've kept this car in great condition cosmetically and serviced which is adding up in $$$$$$...to the point where I'm just about ready to ditch it.

I've vacuumed it, I'm about to take it to be shampoo'd, I've sprayed fabreeze, new car smell, the most recent service at the Dealer ended with some air freshner in the cooling system and NOTHING beats it.

Anyone encounter anything similar?

Let the jokes begin

This thread has some info you will find useful: Strange smell from AC when on "fresh" air?

My 2003 smells like a barn. I think its the leather seats. Its most noticable when the car sits un-used for a while.

old, wet rags? has this car been flooded? or erm... gotten wet inside at anytime? maybe you should let the windows down on a sunny day?

Possibly nesting critters using grass or hay?

Man! Reminds me of that episode from seinfeld.

Clogged moonroof drain causing water to get in the floor board and carpet and then molds?
