Default Tune Up

I'm the 2nd owner and I have about 80K on my Murano. When should I get a full or basic tune up? I also have issues with damp carpet. It doesn't seem to dry up. I took it to my mechanic and he unclogged a tube toward the bottom of the dashboard but things still seem damp to a point where my glass gets foggy all the time. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would change your cabin air filter behind the glove box. Sounds like your ac condensor coils is icing up due to not having enough airflow from the fan. The cabin air filter could dirty and blocking the air to the fan. The water could be from when the condensation on the coils melt. Check and change the cabin fliter because that would be a simple fix if it works.

I'd just follow the maintenance schedule. Plugs should be changed at 105k mi.

Search this forum for info on how to change the cabin filter - it's less than a 5-minute job with no tools required. People neglect them and they get plugged up and really nasty. That could cause problems - and you undoubtedly need to change it in any case. Parts stores have them - no need to buy from a dealer.

For the tune-up interval, check your owner's manual - you have nothing to do until 100K miles.

Check the sunroof drains. I had a clogged one that soaked my carpets a few times. They are hard to see. Sunroof are not designed to be water-tight, so a little gets in - that is why they have the drains. The drains run through tubes through the A-pillars and then out the bottom of the car. If they are clogged, the water will run down inside the pillar and into the floor of the cabin.

looking to give my car a tune up when i change my fuel dampers because my engine is making a fluttering noise when you drive and when i start the car i can hear it about 100ft away. Just hoping this baby last until spring break when I can work on everything. Don't want to take it 5hrs from Washington State to the west side and having it break down on me.
