Looking at my trans and found a hole. I have searched these forums and found everyone with pics in this area have the same hole. It does not have threads or anyothers connections. What is it? Now there is some fluid coming from it. Any ideas??

I'm curious now, will have to have a look tomorrow. Just today found out about a possible "common" prob for '07 Muranos, all wheel drive box (beside tranny?) Gets noisy then just quits after a week or so, $3,400 later...

There was a similar post about this a few years back. If I remember correctly the "hole" is nothing more than a casting boss. The fluid on the boss is originating elsewhere.
