I did briefly thumb through the manual, saw something about advanced mode voice. It was confusing. And ... I promise to go back and read it if someone suggests what I'm searching for is possible.
We just got a 2011 Murano and to go through the phone voice menu each time is torture. Would you like to access phone .. call history, handset phone book, ya know the whole thing.
Is there a way I could cut through the menu stuff and ... for example, hit the phone button and simply say right off the bat ... call home, or call whomever, without that entire menu?
nuthin? LOL, no one knows? I must be a dummy. The manual is so confusing on this, I'm not even sure it's saying that I can do what I am looking to do.
Is everybody here going through this entire phone menu ritual every time they want to call out or am I just old and blind and too dumb to program this thing?
- Toggle down to my ""phonebook" using the "ENTER" button
- Toggle to and select desired number using the same "Enter" button.
- Press the same "ENTER" button to initiate call.
This whole series of steps only takes me a few seconds and is less time consuming that the voice method! I previously took the time to "voice enter" all my contacts, but then when I got an updated iPhone realized that I had to do it all over again! Not worth the effort for I mainly used the button method anyway. Hope this helps and take care!
I have an Android phone but I tried the manual method described above and it worked well; the manual is quite vague ( I think the translation is not great) and if wasn't for red kiosk, I'd still be fighting with the voice command which becomes kind of "hard of hearing" when there is noisy traffic on the highway. First I thought red kiosk meant the enter button on the dashboard below the display but it's really the phone button on the steering wheel that acts as the enter button in manual mode. I'll be practicing for a while until I memorize the whole thing so I can keep my eyes on the road, not on the display!
I'm trying to figure out how to use the phone button on the steering wheel as an enter button to get into the Phonebook.
I can initiate the voice activation by pressing the phone button either once or bypass the automated voice instruction by pressing twice quickly.
But I still have to use voice commands. Phone book is an option on the screen but I can't navigate to it using the buttons below the screen and can't figure out how to get to it from the steering wheel. There is no "Enter" button on the steering wheel.
Can someone explain?
The "enter" button is the phone answer button on the steering wheel. The "back" button is the hang up button just below. I'm with you on this one Brooklin; if it was me, I would have designed it differently, more user friendly...
Now I forgot which buttons are the up and down arrows to select phonebook or other items on the display menu, I'll have to practice again. Not sure if it's on the steering wheel (audio controls) or center console.
I have both English and French entries in my phone and the voice command has trouble in either languages so that's why I prefer manual command! For example, my girl friend's name is Mila and I have to pronounce it "Mela" in English for the system to recognize it in a quiet environment. Must be the same for Spanish entries I guess...¡Hasta la vista señor!
