Default 2009 Murano Automatic Lock Help

Has anyone had their dealer customize the automatic door unlock feature to unlock the doors automatically when you shift into park instead of when you shut the vehicle off. I took my 2009 Murano to the dealer yesterday and they couldn't figure out how to do it even after I showed him in the owner's manual that it's possible. On my owner's manual it states this information on page 3-6 but I've noticed that the information isn't there on later owner's manuals. If you've had your dealer do this, do you know what they had to do?

I requested that to be done before I had my 2009 LE delivered to me. They couldn't figure it out. I kept asking at every oil change, but still no dice. Then they surprised me when I brought the Mo in for it's one year anniversary and 15K oil change. "Hey, we finally figured out how to do it. It wasn't hard at all!" Keep bugging them, it CAN be done. It a software change they need to make! Take care!

I found it in the Service Manual (BCS-18). Tell them to put it MODE 2:

DOOR LOCK : CONSULT-III Function (BCM - DOOR LOCK)
AUTOMATIC DOOR UNLOCK
SELECT
Automatic door unlock function mode can be selected from the following in the mode.
• MODE 1: All doors are unlocked when the power supply position is changed from ON to OFF
• MODE 2: All doors are unlocked when shifting the selector lever from any position other than
the P to P position
• MODE 3: Driver side door is unlocked when the power supply position is changed from ON to
OFF
• MODE 4: Driver side door is unlocked when shifting the selector lever from any position other
than the P to P position

I had the dealer reprogram mine last year. At first they tried to tell me that it wasn't possible but I insisted that it was and they said that they would look into it. They came back in a little while and said that is was an option and while looking into it they said that they found "other" options that they didn't know were possible. They didn't elaborate on the other options but they did get the locks working the way I wanted and I was satisfied.

Well, armed with a printout of this info I was able to have the Nissan Service Dept. set my 2011 LE into Mode 2. Tech found the printout helpful as he was aware there were modes but did not have a clue what each specific mode accomplished. Anyway, Mode 2 set-up for my MO and the Tech kept the printout for his future reference. Ho, ho, ho..................

I provided the Nissan Service Dept. with the same info, but they were not able to locate the Modes. The technician looked at the BCS-18 and said it is used for diagnosis purposes only. He gave me a printout of the BCS-18 that shows DOOR LOCK: CONSULT-III Function and lists three functions: Work Support; Data Monitor; and Active Test. Are we looking at the right BCS-18? The Nissan Tech also mentioned that different model years may have different capabilities. I have a 2010 Nissan Murano LE with Navigation. Any 2010 owners manage to make this change? If so, how? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yea, he needs to put it in WORK SUPPORT mode first, then he can select which mode you want:

WORK SUPPORT Changes the setting for each system function. - http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/murano/2010/BCS.pdf pages 18 and 19.

Yes, it's sad when guys on an email forum know more about the software and diagnostic tools than the techs in the dealership.
