Anyone know when the 2011 navigation software will be available to put on the 09/10?

Do you mean map data or software?
As I discovered a software issue in my '10 Murano (see separate post), I was told a map update would be available next month.

Unfortunately, the issue I discovered is in the software and *not* in the map data, so buying new map data and *paying* for installation will not help me.

If you know a way to get Nissan to even talk about software updates, please share!

I thought the the map data included a software update also since some people reported that after they upgraded from the 07-08 map to 09-10, they were able to see the artist info from the satalite radio on the main status screen, which sounds like a software update, not just map, but who knows. Thanks for the info on the map data being available next month. Hope they figure out your software issues...

Looks like the new navigation software is available.. Has anyone updated? Curious to see if it come with a software update also to match the 2011 Murano?

I was informed by NavTeq that they supply *map data only*, and that the software is not done by them. Therefore, if you buy a map update for what I think is an outrageous price when you add the dealer installation charge (check what Garmin charges for a comparison), you will *not* get updated software.

I found this out while trying to report and have corrected a proven bug in their nav software supplied in my 2010 Murano. Both the dealer and Nissan kept fobbing me off to NavTeq and refused to acknowledge the easily reproduced bug I reported. I would have thought they would at least offer a free software update (not map data - software) under their so-called "bumper to bumper" warranty.

Having recent experience with other brands warranty service(my wife's Lexus and a Kia SUV), I find Nissan's response a distant third. Both other companies actually seemed to care about my satisfaction when service was needed.

This is true. I paid at the dealer to get my original map/software data upgraded last year on my 2009 LE. This brought the original 07-08 "version" to the latest (believe it was 09-10 as mentioned), and got the Song/Artist Info on the main status screen...which was exactly what I wanted.

Wayyyyyy overpriced, but with the amount I listen to XM, this was worth it to me.

I find it hard to believe that someone hasnt been able to find a copy of the maps/software updates and manually do it?

I have a pioneer avic that I hook up via an SD card and update my maps automatically...

Is it because Nissan has a lock on this? Need a special cable?

You cannot copy the Map update and use it on multiple vehicles. Dependent on the year model of your Murano dictates whether the owner can do the map update him or herself.
