Default Icy warning light

When I read my manual, it appeared I could shut off the "icy" warning through the trip odometer buttons. I've driven for many years and believe I'm smart enough to understand when there is a danger of ice.

However, when actually trying to shut it off yesterday, it seems the only thing you can really turn off is a chime that accompanies the warning? Anyone have any experience with this? This is on a 2011 SL.

You cannot turn the visual warning off as far as I know. To me the warning is harmless and I don't take it's warning personal.. 8-)

All my Nissans have that little light, but I've never noticed any chime with it. I believe it'll go away if you change the display to something other than outside temp...but I could be mistaken.

they need to change all the chimes to baby screams (you know, the kind that will wake the dead in the middle of the night!).

Just consider it a reminder to freshen the ice in your martini.

Great thought but I'm more of an Irish whiskey guy . . .

Only if it's good Polish potato vodka, with just a hint of vermouth!! No olives though, displaces way too much fluid!!

To our Government, you only rule by the consent of the governed. We outnumber you vastly. And we are armed. This isn’t a threat. It’s a reminder.
