Exclamation 2010 Murano SL **Clicking Driver Side**

Hello all,

I was researching this, and haven't found anything on it. So here is my question.

A few Days ago my Wife told me our Murano was "clicking" from what sounded like under the Dash (behind the instrument panel, general area). I then took the Murano out that night a few nights after that and noticed it as well. I notice the most when at lower speed (not freeway speeds), and it doesn't seem to matter, either when turning, accelerating or braking. While its not 100% of time, almost seems random. As I hear it more I will update this post, but i wanted to reach out and see if anyone else may have heard of this, or notice it on their 2nd Gen Murano?

Lastly it doesn't sound like outside the cabin, but Im not 100% sure.

Any thoughts on this (with in reason please), would be great!

Murano Specs:
2010 SL
under 15K Miles
Regular Maintenance (oil changes [synthetic only] , tire rotations, 15K Schedule Maintenance a few K early, etc...)
No Accidents
No "off-road driving" Just a Daily A to B
No Aftermarket Suspension or Body Accessories

If the clicking noise is really coming from behind the dash then I would suspect something is in contact with the HVAC fan. Turn the HVAC off - if the noise stops you know where to look.

I have SV Canadian spec. and heard once a rattling sound (maybe clicking) from inside of the instrument randomly then a couple of days later, I couldn't hear it anymore. I thought soemthing was hanging around inside and made contacting noise.

My 2009 S does the same thing. It happens when i hit the gas and car starts to accelerate. It is not related to the car turning, the AC or anything. Sometimes it does is for days at a time, sometimes it stops for weeks. Mechanics cannot find it but i feel it on the drive's side, somewhere between the dashboard and the left front wheel.

Of course as I ask about this, I haven't heard it (or noticed it) since my last post! Hopefully its gone, but still very weird.

I get the noise when I try to accelerate from a stop. Its doesn't happen all the time. 2009 SL here...

I can feel the clicking vibration on the accelerator. My initial conversation with the mechanic came down to Motor mounts. I have an appointment tomm and will update what they find.

Update:

So got my car back from dealer. They said the clicking noise came from the axle and there is a bulletin associated with it. Since my car is under extended warranty, they covered all the cost and also gave me a rental for a day, while they figured out the problem. Hope this helps some one.

Glad you got a fix. Just out of curiosity, why are you on extended warranty for a 2010?

Ah, sorry. Misread that. Thought it was a 2010 and assumed it would still be under 3yr/36k.
