Default Reverse Light LED's

Major improvement, inexpensive, long life and easy install. Looking at reverse LED's but need to be sure they have great illumination for the rear view camera. I will update when I find something good.

I had a friend that tried this and the LED washed out /lighting too bright, the back-up camera.

No such issue here; it actually helps light the way better. That would be a deal breaker for me!

What was the product ID of the LED that you used at that link above? That link has a zillion LED's. 8-)

I wonder if the shiny bumper protector makes a difference ...

I know with my Murano it does... With the Car kit Company, bypass kit I have, I frequently drive with the back-up camera on as to monitor blind spots, etc.. The sun reflecting off the stainless has been an issue at times. I've often thought of 86ing the stainless and going with the black rubber protector. Anyway, indeed the LED might just be too bright if the Murano has the stainless protector.

I'll bet the bumper protector would look nice if you got it brushed.

rr516-

I like what you are doing. The following quip is not a commentary on your intentions.

A few weeks ago I passed a primer-gray and Bondo ricer on the GSP that had ultra-white LED marker lights in every conceivable location - even on the hood at the base of the windshield, which I am sure adversely affected the driver's night vision. But what really tickled my funny bone was the LED light bar above the rear license plate. It brightly illuminated the smoked black plastic plate cover that completely obscured the numbers on the plate.

Just what was he thinking??

WLED-x6: 6 LED T10 Wedge Base Bulb. Remember this is a non polarized bulb. You mus plug into and check to see if it lights. If not, you need to turn the bulb in the socket, thats it!

Thanks.....I take no offense to your comments as they are SPOT ON. Everything I do is for better visibility with an OE look and no problems for other drivers. I do not add lights in random locations or use color bulbs. I like to have my car look stock, but have better visibility for me and in turn be seen better by other vehicles.

Car makers have gone to LED lights for a few reasons, but one major one is that they are more visible to the human eye and in brake light situations, LED light respond to the human eye faster and CAN reduce reaction times for other drivers.

I am very into good visibility as it is just safer if executed in the proper manner (i.e. not blinding other drivers with improper applications). Thanks for you .02

That is a VERY good point that I never thought about since I dont have the chrome bumper guard; but was planning to get one. I will have to research and re-think?

OK, is this the LED we are talking about? There are 3 different whites offered. Natural white, Cool white and Warm white. Which one did you go with? Your thoughts on each white offered? Thanks in advance for your input...

I got the cool white, no blue for me and the light is crisper than the warm white which is yellower like a halogen. They are cheap enough to try a couple and there are other places you can use this bulb (i.e. map lights, front door lights)
