Default New 2012 SL Owner

Hi folks, this is my first post on this forum, but I just wanted to state a few observations on the car.
  • I have a 2012 SL AWD, which I traded a 2005 Maxima for to get the increased utility.
  • I have read the Owner's Manual cover to cover, which I always do when I buy a new car. Still some things take a while to figure out even when you are a previous Nissan owner.
  • I compared a lot of the mid-sized SUV's before buying the Murano, and even though it might lack a few of the Tech features of the Edge, or the RX, I think it is a way better car than the Edge and compared favorably with the RX which is thousands more.
  • I drive a Ford Explorer every day as a company car. I have had 4 of them since 2004, and I wouldn't own a ford product for a personal vehicle. Build quality is lacking, and there are numerous problems with brakes and transmissions.
  • I loved the Maxima, and I think the Murano is going to perform equally well. The Maxima would do 140 mph, how fast can the Murano go?
I'm going to hang around this forum and see what ll I can learn about the Murano. Thanks.

Welcome and congrats on the new Murano. But did you buy the SL, as the post title says, or the LE...as you mentioned in your post?

Welcome to the forum.

It looks like 118-120 is the governed max for US-spec MOs. Here's an interesting early thread that discusses the MO's top end: fastest u hit in ur mo

Sorry, it is the SL, must have been a Freudian slip!

Fantastic. So far this one is great. I bought this one because of the Maxima I owned for 7 years. It was a great car with a fantastic engine. I hope the Murano holds up as well.

It's, to me, like an AWD Maxima with more room and a bigger trunk and an SUVs higher view of the road!
