Just purchased today (1/31/12) the 2012 SL AWD (two option mud flaps and carpet mats added) for $36250 minus the $2k rebate so it was $34250, 0 down and 2.19% financing for 72 months. Payments are $508 but plan on paying $750 and should have it paid off in 48 months but if times get rough, can always fall back on the base payment. The deal I originally threw at them was $33500 (with rebate included) and they came back with $34400. I think I could of got it for an even $34000 if I haggled some more.

msmurano, you should also check the overall price of the vehicle even if its a lease. RDFTS seems to have a lower monthly payment but its for 72 mos and total of almost $37K.

What kinda got me since I used TrueCar to determine a starting point was TrueCar showed the base price was $38410 and with the options I got (MSRP $38410+$330+$825=$39565), the target price should be around $34200. I didn't realize it until afterwards that the actual sticker was $38000 base thus making the MSRP for $39150. Looking back now at TrueCar, the 2011 base price was $38000 so my target price should of been closer to my original first offer, or at least fight for $34000. If I caught this beforehand, I know I would of done that because I wasn't in a situation that I had to have the car and would of gladly walked out.
So was there a price increase of $410 for 2012? Do some stickers for 2012 show $38000 and others show $38410 for the exact same car, huh? |

Buying, leasing, financing, are all pretty personal things, and when you start asking people about this stuff, it's like asking them about health issues, you are never going to get the absolute truth.
But, when you look at financing, it is generally better to take the cash back, and look for decent financing. The cash back option immediately lowers your principal by the $3000, and when you run the numbers it generally works out better. Also, finance for the SHORTEST time possible, but don't go over 48 months. 5, 6, and 7 year loans are not where you want to be because you are paying so little on the principal that the car depreciates much faster than you pay for it and you find yourself upside down in no time. You are better off taking the cash back, adding a decent down payment and financing for 3 or 4 years. Leasing is also death if you can't write off your expenses for business. Buying a car is never a financial win for the buyer, if it was nobody would sell cars or the financing that goes with them. But you should always crunch the numbers and make sure you are getting the best deal possible for yourself in your current financial situation. And I guarantee you, you have to sort this out for yourself. The dealer and finance companies aren't going to look out for you, they are looking out for their own well being. They generally hate to see me because I already have the numbers run before I ever enter the dealership. I expect them to make money on all their sales (they have to or they will go out of business), but they are definitely not going to make more off of me because I'm unprepared when it comes to buying and financing. So take a little time and be prepared, and you will feel good about the purchase and the financing. |

So on Tuesday, I went to the dealership in the morning when she was at work, took a test drive and purchased it for her on this deal I stated. I called her before she got off work and told her to meet me at the Nissan dealer so she could test drive it. The whole dealership was in on it that I was surprising her. She had no idea I already bought it. She was looking the car over and I asked her if she still wanted to test drive it and of course she said Yes!. I told her she could test drive it all she wants because it was hers! Everybody was clapping/laughing and she got out and opened her arms wide and hugged the car, wish I had my camera going because it was priceless. Don't know, maybe the experience was worth the extra $400 that I paid too much.... Will see about pics. |

6yr loan at 2.19% is $2330 in interest. Pay extra and interest is $1545, and pay it off in 4yrs. Payment of $750 per month (base at $508) 4yr loan at 2.19% is $1553 in interest. Payment of $746 per month. NOTE: This works if the rate is the same, not always the case. I know if you don't stick with it, then it won't work out the same but if you do, it does. And I know not everyone does. I only like this option because if times get a rough you don't have to make that large of a payment, knowing that you will be paying more interest when you do. |

It would be helpful if people specified whether their SL AWD had a Nav package or not. It makes a difference whether you paid $34K for the one with the Nav package. It would make me jealous. I paid invoice $37.2K for the 2012 SL AWD with the Nav. On the other hand, the dealer gave me $18K for my 3-year old CR-V, which made me so happy that I did not even try to get the price of the Murano down any further. I am pretty happy with the overall deal.

The SL AWD that I got for my wife did not. If it did then I would of made an offer for $35250-$35500. When you paid $37.2k, did you also get the $2k rebate so your deal was actually $35.2k? Because you should of been able to get it at invoice plus any rebates because even on that deal they still would be getting a $1100 holdback directly from Nissan.

I bought mine 1-14-2012 and paid 33,200.00. The sticker final price with all the goodies was 39,875.00. My final price did include the 2000 rebate and I talked them into 2.49% with NMAC since my credit union was offering me that rate. I feel that I got a pretty good price and I was happy with my trade in too, 8100.00 for a 2002 GMC Yukon with low miles. I am so happy with my new Murano, my first ever Nissan and I just love her! I bought it at Bankston Nissan in Lewisville Texas.

Going by memory, I think I paid just under $35k for our 2011 SL AWD w/Nav back in March of 2011.
