Default 2011 SL power lift gate beeping

I wanted to get rid of the speaker noise when i open the power lift gate.

I watched teh video here and was going to try and dissconect mine as shown in the video here

but it seems the harness connects differntly in the 2011, see pic's

In the video it seems to pop right out in the 09, but it looks like they glued it on or something when i looked at it. I gave it a lite tug and it seemd to be really connected firmly. Does it just pull out? Or do i need to cut something to get it out? I figured i would ask here first as i don't want to rip anything out that should not be ripped.

I had the same problem of not being able to get the connector out on my '11, even using pliers. I started to cut the wires but chickened out and just living with the beeping for now.

The harness connector on the 2011 to me is very easy to get to unless you have a trailer hitch installed. You can't get to it if the hitch is there.

I think your pulling on the wrong part. At the top of your picture is the gromet that goes through to the trunk area. The part you need to disconnect is at the bottom of your picture.

You want to disconnect B27:

I houghtthe same thing! The connector is like right there, easy to get to and disconnect UNLESS you have a trailer hitch installed.

It is a waterproof type of connector. Here is how the manual says to disconnect it:

Thanks, based on what you guys said I was pulling the wrong part. I must have gotten confused in the orientation of the video I watched, I thought it was the other part. I'll try tomorrow, it's raining now and I can't pull the car far enough in to the garage to not get wet trying to do this.

Well i tried again today, no luck. I can only get one hand on the thing and i was unable to get it at all. I tried squeezing but when i did i was unable to get any leverage to pull as i was only able to get one hand on it at a time. I tried for a while with no luck. I even tried pliars but all i did was pinch the heck out of my finger.

Nice, and there are no other side effects after they came out? I really wanted to just pull it apart, but I may not be able to. Maybe I'll just cut it, I just worry about not being able to put it back if I ever sell.

If you simply cut and tape one of the two wires to the plug, it shouldn't be too hard to twist them back together if you ever wanted.
