Default New to Nissan & Missing Honda

I bought a new Nissan Murano; Out of the dealer, the car paint on hood, roof, and top sides felt rough feels like very fine sand paper. Therefore, I Contacted Nissan; Nissan send me to the dealer. Visited Dealer, and I was told I will receive a call from the Service dept Manager. A week later and here I am no calls from Service Dept.

I have had Hondas and I was used to High Quality Cars and Bar none Service Department.

Don't get me wrong I loved my Murano, but I am wondering if trying Nissan was a wise decision.

If this is a brand new car then why didn't you inspect it before taking delivery? If used, didnt you noticed it when you test drove the car? You have to be pro active with nissan dealers. I'd give them a call if I were you. What do you want them to do anyways? Repaint, or do the rubbing compound and rebuff? They will probably send it to some body shop anyways if its a paint job.

I have never had a problem with the Nissan service department. If there is something on the paint it will be corrected. You may not want to sit at home waiting for a phone call but just drop in to the service department and show them the problem. I am on my 4th Nissan and have had minimal problems with them. Now if you really want vehicle problems and poor service all you have to do is buy a Chrysler product.

While it may not actually be a Chrysler product, I have driven Jeep trucks and SUVs for a number of years and didn't have quality or service problems. To my experience you have to be proactive with just about any service request, whether it's your car, your cable, your home. With cars, I've found it mostly depends on the dealership whether you get good service after the sale. The company might set policy, but the quality and ability of the dealership's management affects how important the employees think that policy is and how well they carry it out.

1) Its a brand new car. Quality assurance its Nissan's responsibility not mine. Nevertheless, I brought it up at the time of delivery, and I was told it was a residue of the material they used to protect the pain during transportation. I was told that after washing the car it will go away. I polish and waxed myself the condition did not improved.

2) In reference to being pro active: I drove the car to the dealer as instructed by Nissan and ask to talk to the Manager of Service Department. The dealer told me I will receive a call from the Manager to schedule an appointed, which did not happen.

3) To your question "What do you want them to do anyways?". I want my car to be in the condition it should had being, no more no less.

The intention of my post, was to get some advice from other members, but I did not expect to get this kind of reaction.

I will contact the dealer as many times needed.

Go to the dealer and talk to the general manager stating you are not leaving until this is resolved to your satisfaction.

Does it feel like oxidation? rusting? Maybe a claybar job. Do you live close to the ocean? I mean the dealer?
