Twice now I have pushed our 2009 Nissan Muane SL AWD 21000 miles out of the garage to avoid start/stop cold engine. Upon getting back into car, I get no response from starter. All lites on dash and radio come on but IT IS DEAD. I replaced FOB battery 2 months ago.
The other day I went out to wash car in garage but I had to push it back a foot as it was up too far. I had my intelligent key in my pocket so I hit start button twice to pull it in neutral, pushed it back and washed car. Next day, I go out and again same problem. No response from starter an lites are lit and radio works. The only way we were able to start car as was case first time, was to have the wife go in and get her intelligent key and she gets in and lo and behold it starts right up. We leave and after that my key seems to function as before, no problem. I called Nissan direct and the girl says she has had other people report same problem. She has no solution but to take it to dealer. The first time it happened was a Sunday and dealer was closed. We then forgot about the first incident. Now, I am out of the warranty period and I doubt that the dealer would check this for free. Anyone out there have the same problem? Any other solutions? |

Sounds like your system immobilizer (anti theft) activates when you move the car. Next time try first locking and then unlocking the doors using your fob, or use the physical key inside your fob to first lock and then unlock the driver's door to reset the system.

Had the same thing happen to me in October. The original batteries in this car are'nt very good and from what i read don't last more than 3 years. Since I replaced the original battery with a new better battery I have'nt had any problems.
