Just purchased a 2012 Murano SL AWD. Does this car not have a coin holder? If not, is there an Nissan one that goes in that storage holder to the right of the gear shift? I know there is aftermarket ones that you put into the cup holder but would rather not go that route considering there is only two of those up front.
Ideas?

Does this car not have a coin holder? No
If not, is there an Nissan one that goes in that storage holder to the right of the gear shift? NO I keep an aftermarket spring loaded, coin holder within easy reach in the little compartment at the back of the center console. Better there out of sight of theiving fools..

I really miss the coin holder that my Jeep had inside the center console. I bought one of the spring-loaded guys but either I'm a weakling or it has extra strong springs - there's a stack of nickels in it that I can't get out.
So I just dump coins loose in the storage next to the shift lever. And they don't make noise, surprisingly. |

I guess when you look at it, it's another thing the Japanese evidently don't need or do in their country. There are several things missing from Nissans that you find on American manufacturers vehicles. I still like the Nissan 3.5L engines, and I like the fit and finish, and the ride. I just miss some of these little things they leave out of their cars.

I love EZ Pass, but sometimes you need a quarter or two for the parking meter or to "rent" a lousy shopping cart at ShopRite.
![]() I keep the quarters (and several oil pan washers) in the coin holder adjacent to the way-too-small cell phone holder on the center console. -njjoe

I too will take quality, fit and finish, ride, durability, etc. over a few doodads like coin or cell phone holders, better cup holders, or larger glove box and/or other storage compartments ANY day! That's why I always look for the `made in Japan' (or Germany) label.

My Titan has a coin holder but I never use it. I'm an EZ-PASS guy as well. And if I ever do have coins, they never seem to make it into the holder anyhow..lol

There is nothing like having a roll of quarters in your car. They come in handy for parking, or you can put them inside your sock and use as a weapon in an emergency....

I too have EZ-tag but it still find it useful to have a place to stash loose coins, since I hate carrying them in my pocket. My pet peeve has been that most of the spring-loaded coin holders available at car washes and the like only accommodate three types of coins, like no one wants to acknowledge that pennies still exist. Fortunately, I managed to find a four-coin holder on eBay that supposedly is made for the Honda Pilot. I've got two on order, one for for the MO and one for my office.
