Default Change the 2011 back lights to new 2012 model

Hi, first of all sorry for my english, I'm writing form Italy and I have just bought a new NISSAN Murano 2011 model.

What I'm trying to understand is the possibility to change the backlights with the 2012 model. Doing this I will have (at least externally) a model 2012.

Does anyone knows if is it possible?

Thanks!

The tail lamps of 2011 and 2012 are the same.
Do you mean 2010 and 2012 ?

My memory may be a bit hazy, but with earlier model-year MOs the Euro-spec models were one year behind their North American counterparts.

Then, a pair of 2012 tail lamps need to be replaced. Probably, they are the same sizes and shapes.

Yes, I confirm that sizes and shapes are the same (Nissan did not modify the body of the car) but maybe they changed the inside plug connector or something else that may affect the interchangeability between the two version

For this reason I would like to replace mine 2010 model with 2012 but, until now, none is able to confirm if the replacement is 100% compatible without any changes

hey simo, IIRC the '12 has LED taillights. BUT you might be lucky if the module is actually in the inside of the housing. if thats the case I believe you can replace it.

Have you check with your local dealer? or are you gonna DIY the replacement? I suggest if your doing the replacement you can buy the one side and if its the same buy the other side and do the swap.

cheers!

Hi, also my current 2010 model has LED taillights. For this reason I was assuming that the only difference is the external plastic, hoping that the plug connectors is the same. My dealer is more than 2 weeks that is trying to get an official reply from Nissan but until now no news. For this reason I am trying to get some more info from USA but it seams that none has made such modification

That good news. if your saying you have 'LED' on 2010 then I think its a direct swap.

yeah, I'm new here in the forum and I have never seen someone change their tail lights. ( I have 2012 and it has the LED tail lights, but the older model has bulbs IIRC)

I'm sure that my 2010 model has LED and that the 2011 new restyling version has LED as well. Theorically they are 100% compatible but I am looking for a confirmation of this

I wanna darken mines so it looks almost all black, it would look sick on my red one, but here's a website that can help ya out

I think this is what you're looking for, if not, that website is what I highly recommend http://www.mynissanpartstore.com/par...w=11&maxRow=10

If you can't find it on there try
http://www.courtesyparts.com

if they don't have the right one on neither of them, I recommend calling a Nissan dealer in US, or have someone do it here, or send them an email and ask for the part number and you can order it from the Nissan factory in Japan.

Hi Simo1276 and all the lucky Murano owners! First of all sorry for my english, I'm spanish but because my work I'm living in Italy for 3 years. I want to say that I've just joined the group and I'm very happy because finally I've found a group of Murano fans and I have the opportunity to learn many things of you all about my car (Murano 2.5 dcI 190 hp Tekna Premium (LE in USA)
About your question, first of all you are right, here in Europe the model 2011 is like the 2010 in USA, the changes in the European model in 2012 were made in USA in 2011, for that I've just changed the taillights of my Murano 2011 and I haven't had problems, I bought them in the official dealer in Prato (near Florence) where I buy my Murano six months ago. The instalation is very easy, I can do it by myself, the only difficulty was to change the lights of reverse because I had to dismount the interior panel of the back inner door but isn't very difficult, now my car looks different, more actual and aggressive. The price of the parts (four pieces) was 500 € without instalation.
