Default Unfortunate Demise of my 2010 SL

Have L O V E D my 2010 SL AWD, was just coming up on 30k miles, just at the 2 year ownership mark, and WHAM!

I was fortunate, didnt get hurt very badly, and the Murano did what it was supposed to do.

I didnt expect it would be totaled, but was told there was lots of hidden damage behind the radiator, plus the drivers side air bag....

Just wanted to share, and say that I thought since I did need to replace my car I might as well go out and test drive everything.... which I did.... also was looking at moving away from another Murano for the gas mileage factor (I was averaging 20mpg combined).

I couldnt find anything in the way of a comparable CUV for performance/comfort/quietness of ride/and saftey (which I never truely looked at in the past the same way)....in the end today... I signed on the dotted line for a 2012 SL AWD, Pearl While, Beige interior to replace it.... Nothing I tested compared, and honestly I know exactly how it could protect my family in a crash (hopefully that never happens again).

Glad you made it. As you say, the car did its job by protecting you!

hope u and ur family is fine.

can you let us know how did that happen?

I came from taiwan. in taiwan, ppl fix those kind of damage instead of totaled it

I am not quite under the system here.
let's say a bigger size dent on the door, you actually can pull it back and re-paint it.
but most of places just replace a new door....is that bad for envirment, too?

I can easily see damage approaching $10,000 in the photos - and the air bag is probably another thou easily....so it's no surprise to see that it's totaled.

Pretty much have to replace the entirety of the front end. If there is engine damage then it will add up quickly. Looks like everything on the front end is toast.

Glad to hear you're okay. MO's have been known to be very stout in handling accidents of all kinds. Glad to see your MO held up to its reputation!

LOL.... New Finish... That would have been cheaper...heh

Just posted some pics of the new 2012, but all is good, and suprisingly the insurance company was a breeze to deal with, gave me just what I was expecting.....

Thanks all

BTW...what are the options on the new 2012? Does the OEM Aero Kit fit on them?

Just curious if they're advertising it as such. Nice to see you got a new MO! Hope you're okay!

Warhammer, not sure what the Aero Kit is for the MO.....

Im at the 500 mile mark and no dings from the hurricane "Sandy", so that was a huge plus (I stayed at a hotel for work and parked it in about 5 different spots over a 10 minute period trying to find the best place with the most wind buffetted from throwing stuff at the MO....lol)
