Hello- the other day my factory installed passenger HID headlight stopped working. I took it to my local Nissan dealer and they determined that I had a bad ballast. They quoted me $700 for parts/labor. I've seen OEM replacement ballasts online in the $150 range. I'm quite mechanical and decided to replace it myself.
I'm going to try moving the working drivers side bulb to the passenger side and vice versa. If the bulb previously located on the drivers side doesn't work, then the ballast is indeed bad. HOWEVER..I can't locate the ballast. I know what they look like, but still can't see it. Does anyone know where it's mounted? I can only follow the silver cable that supplies power to the bulb socket only so far until it disappears and I know that it attaches to the ballast. Thanks Gang! |

Ballast is either working or not--- so yeah try swapping bulbs first.. IIRC, oem ballast are mostly integrated to headlights.. I would say its attached to the bottom.. There are oem headlights for sale in ebay you check their pictures..
