warranty coverage for interior lights

Hi everyone,

My 2011 SL mo, switch light for heating seat just burned out. ( for Max )
I am still feel the seat is getting hot when I turn it on, just no lights.

Does anyone know this is covered under warranty?

I want to have some basic idea before I go to dealer.

I would say yes under the bumper to bumper 3 year 36,000 mile warranty.

Lamps (AKA: bulbs) are not usually covered because they are perishable. I think an internally illuminated switch (if that's what you're describing - not quite clear to me) should be covered.

Hi everyone,

Just an update for my Mu.


I went to dealer today and they have checked my Mu and the illuminated switch is covered under warranty. GOOD~!
They are ordering the parts and I will have to go back for installation.


However, after I left the dealer, I found a new problem~!!

I always turn everything off before I shut my engine off. This including all the lights, air con, radio, etc.
But now, when I start the car, the USB media started by itself~!
Oh my god.... I have 2 problems in 2nd yr already. Have to go back and see them again.

(My little Q (QX4) have no problem for 10 yrs~! now...i am sad)

I will update the status later.

It's a waste of time to turn that stuff off before you kill the engine. When you re-start, the car's electronics bypass all that stuff while the starter is engaged.

Every once in a while my iPod starts up and the radio will switch inputs. This only happens on startup and once every 30-45 starts. Always done this, just assumed it was some errant signal from the iPod, but sound like yours does this same type of thing. Is it everytime?

Mine has been doing this every so often too. I usually have the SIRUS/XM set to on, but after a bit it switches to either the iPod or the MusicBox. The switch always occurs immediately after I make a RH turn out the the driveway, so I just figured that my hand inadvertently bumped the "source" switch located on the upper left of steering wheel. This has been my reasoning and I'm OK blaming myself on this one.

I think Pilgrims right. Because it's a lighted switch, it's covered under the 3/36. Normally bulbs fall under the 12 month 12k mile adjustment warranty.
