The last pics are just the DRLs?!?

I've never seen any DRLs put out any real usable light like that.

That's a lot of light!

Better keep an eye out for oncoming drivers flashing you. Those lights might be too much and too unfocused for oncoming drivers at night.

But if it's not, then you have a winner!

They are not on at night,,,,
The way factory set up is, DRL only ON when all other lights is in OFF position....
when other lights"parking, low beam,Auto etc......" is ON ,DRL will turn OFF... and that's exactly what is DRL stand for...

Good to know! That's excellent, and will prevent any problems.

Just be aware that on many car makes, the DRLs are never off, their name just alludes to the fact that they are on at all times...including daytimes.

Actually I wouldn't mind if they had red DRLs on the back - when it's not quite dark enough for headlights, I often feel compelled to turn them on anyway to prevent some idiot from rear ending me. Atlanta traffic is that bad. :-) That might be an interesting custom mod, maybe on the lower bumper where the two red reflectors are.

Here is my question. Why aren't these DRLs a standard item on the MO? Seems like a safety item that Nissan is eliminating to save a few bucks!

Money. But since the new Sentra has DRLS, I bet you'll see them all get them soon.

Yup, that's the law.

Kinda. Those DRLs (on Audis, Land Rovers, etc.) actually have 2 brightness settings; bright when the headlights are off (daytime), dim when headlights are on (nighttime). As Block's pictures illustrate, DRLs are too bright and the beam pattern is too wide to remain at full power during nighttime use. Since Nissan's DRLs don't dim, they shouldn't be re-wired to remain illuminated with the headlights (as has been suggested in other threads).
